The 7 Chakras and Their Role in Healing
The human energy system is made up of seven main chakras, each responsible for maintaining balance in different areas of life. The Root Chakra (Muladhara) is located at the base of the spine and governs feelings of safety, security, and grounding. Just above it in the lower abdomen is the Sacral Chakra (Swadhisthana), which controls emotional flow, creativity, and desires.Moving upward, the Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura) sits in the upper abdomen and represents personal power, confidence, and self-esteem. At the center of the chest lies the Heart Chakra (Anahata), the energy center of unconditional love, compassion, and emotional healing.
The Throat Chakra (Vishuddha), located in the throat, influences communication, self-expression, and truth.
Between the eyebrows is the Third Eye Chakra (Ajna), connected with intuition, clarity, and inner wisdom. Finally, at the crown of the head is the Crown Chakra (Sahasrara), which links us to higher consciousness, universal energy, and spiritual awakening. When all these chakras are balanced and aligned, energy flows freely throughout the body, bringing peace, harmony, and overall well-being.1
